Middle East to surpass Asia-Pacific in mobile penetration rate in 2006
A research study reported by Al-Bawaba.com argues rhar the Middle East will suprass Asian and Pacific in terms of mobile phone penetration rate by end of 2006. In 2005, the Middle East mobile market added 20.6 million new subscribers for cellular services, boosting subscription rates by %48 to a total of 62.9 million mobile users. Another 150 million people live close to a mobile network and are likely to be future subscribers resulting in doubling total mobile users in Middle East by end of 2010.
